Focusing on Outreach

The  Outreach Department has a solid reputation in meeting needs both in the community and the world. Our goal is to be able to contribute fifty percent of gifts received toward outreach projects.

The Outreach Christmas Party is hosted by the committee to provide a family Christmas gathering for church families and area families. It's an old fashioned party with a large tree, singing and refreshments.

Our Uniting congregation is part of a network that provides funds for food to the Network of Community Ministries, Good Samaritan's of Garland, and the Richardson Hunger Pantry that provides food to the inner city.

Besides providing funds for the National Habitat for Humanity, there is also a fund for the local Habitat for Humanity. Church members assist in the building, food preparation for workers and gift certificates to the new owners.

A percentage of our budget is designated to outreach each year in addition to six special outreach offering emphasis.

Other important missions within the area are North Texas Area of Christian Churches that covers camp and youth rallies; and Greater Dallas Community of Churches which focuses on housing, hunger, advocacy for the most helpless, racial and ethnic issues.
